Where Is the Nile River?
The Nile River flows through northeastern Africa. It passes through 11 countries, including Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Uganda. It is the longest river in Africa, and one of the longest rivers in the whole world!
Why Is the Nile Important?
The Nile gives fresh water to people, animals, and plants. For thousands of years, it helped ancient Egyptians grow food, travel, and build great cities. Even today, many people live near the Nile and use its water every day.
Where Does the Nile Start and End?
The Nile has two main parts: the White Nile and the Blue Nile. The White Nile starts in Lake Victoria (in Uganda), and the Blue Nile starts in Ethiopia. They meet in Sudan, and then the river flows all the way north to the Mediterranean Sea.
What Lives in the Nile River?
The Nile is home to many animals, such as:
- Crocodiles
- Hippos
- Fish
- Birds
You might even see elephants or lions nearby, especially in wild areas near the river!
