Edge

Definition:
An edge is the straight line where two faces of a 3D shape meet.

Examples:

  • A cube has 12 edges.
  • A pyramid has edges where the triangular sides meet.

In maths:
Edges help describe and count the properties of solid shapes, along with faces and vertices (corners).

Fun fact:
If you run your finger along the side of a box, you are tracing an edge!
