From Egg to Frog!

Have you ever wondered how a tiny egg can turn into a hopping, croaking frog? Frogs go through an incredible journey called a life cycle. Frog Eggs
Frogs begin their lives as tiny eggs. A mother frog lays hundreds of soft, jelly-like eggs in ponds, lakes, or slow-moving rivers. These eggs stick together in clumps called frogspawn. Inside each egg, a baby frog is already beginning to grow.
Tadpoles Hatch
After a few days or weeks, the eggs hatch into tadpoles. Tadpoles don’t look like frogs yet—they look more like little fish! They have long tails, breathe through gills, and swim around eating plants in the water.
Tadpoles Grow Legs
As tadpoles grow, something amazing happens—they start to grow back legs first, and then front legs. Their bodies change shape, and they begin to look more like frogs. They also start to breathe with lungs instead of gills so they can live on land.
Froglets Appear
When a tadpole has grown legs and its tail begins to shrink, it becomes a froglet. Froglets can hop around on land but still stay close to water. They are halfway between being a tadpole and a frog!
Fully Grown Frog
Finally, the froglet’s tail disappears, and it becomes an adult frog. Now it can live on land, hop, croak, and eat insects. Adult frogs return to ponds to lay eggs, and the life cycle begins again.
