How to Make a Paper Boat

Have you ever wanted to sail your very own boat? Well, now you can! With just a piece of paper, you can fold a simple paper boat and set it afloat in a pond, stream, or even your bathtub. Let’s learn how to make one step by step.
What You’ll Need
- Large sheet of construction paper (any color you like!)
- A flag to decorate your ship (optional, but fun!)
Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Fold your paper in half
Take a rectangular sheet of paper and fold it in half from top to bottom. Make sure the edges line up neatly.

2. Fold it again and make a crease
Now fold it in half from side to side, but only press lightly to make a crease. Open it up again.

3. Fold the corners down
Take the top corners and fold them down so they meet at the center crease. Your paper should now look like a little triangle hat.

4. Fold up the bottom strips
Fold the bottom flap of paper up over the base of the triangle. Flip the paper over and fold the other bottom flap up too.

5. Open into a square
Hold the middle of the folded strips and carefully pull outward until the paper opens into a square shape.

6. Fold up again
Now fold the bottom of the square upward on both sides. You’ll have another triangle shape.

7. Pull apart to make your boat
Finally, hold the top corners of the triangle and gently pull them apart. Like magic, your paper boat will appear! 🚤
Time to Decorate!
You can decorate your boat with:
- A pirate flag ☠️
- A star or smiley sticker ⭐
- Fun patterns using markers or crayons

Tiny Champions Tip
Try racing your paper boats in a bowl of water, or see how long they can float in the bath. Just don’t forget to dry them out afterwards!
