🦴 What Are Bones?
Bones are the hard parts inside our body that make up our skeleton. They’re strong, like the wooden frame of a house, and they help hold everything in place!
You have over 200 bones in your body, and they all have special jobs.
đź’Ş Bones Give Us Shape and Support
Without bones, we’d be like jelly! Bones give your body its shape and help you stand tall. Your spine helps you sit up straight, your leg bones help you walk and run, and your skull protects your brain.
🕺 Bones Help Us Move
Bones don’t move by themselves. They work together with muscles. Muscles pull on bones to help you move—like dancing, jumping, or even waving hello!
Joints (like your knees and elbows) are where two bones meet and let you bend and twist.
🛡️ Bones Keep Us Safe
Bones are like armor. They protect the important parts inside your body. Your ribcage guards your heart and lungs. Your skull keeps your brain safe from bumps.
🩸 Bones Make Blood!
Did you know some bones are busy factories? Inside certain bones is something called bone marrow. It makes blood cells, which are super important for keeping you healthy and strong.
🥦 Keep Your Bones Healthy
To keep your bones strong:
- Drink milk or eat leafy greens for calcium
- Get sunlight for vitamin D
- Move your body with fun activities like running, skipping, or climbing
🎉 Great Job, Bone Explorer!
Now you know why bones are so important — they help us move, stay safe, and even make our blood! Keep eating healthy and staying active to keep your bones strong and happy.
