What Are Robots?

Machines that can think, move, and help us!

What is a Robot?

A robot is a machine that can do jobs on its own or with a little help from humans. Some robots look like people, and others look like cars, animals, or just boxes with arms! Robots can move, talk, and even think a little using something called a computer brain.

What Do Robots Do?

Robots can help us in lots of ways. Some build cars in factories. Others help doctors in hospitals. There are even robots that clean your home or explore space! Each robot is built to do a special job, just like superheroes have their own powers.

How Do Robots Work?

Robots need three things to work:

  • Sensors to see and feel the world
  • A brain (computer) to make decisions
  • Motors and parts to move around

Some robots also use AI (Artificial Intelligence) to learn and get better at their jobs.

Can Robots Think?

Robots don’t think like people, but some are very smart. They can learn from what they see and make choices. That’s called machine learning. It’s not magic – it’s just clever computer programming!

Where Can You Find Robots?

You can find robots in:

  • Homes (vacuum robots)
  • Schools (learning robots)
  • Factories (building machines)
  • Space (Mars rovers!)
  • Even underwater (robot submarines)

Robots are all around us!

Now You Know!

Robots are amazing machines that help us in so many ways—from cleaning our homes to exploring space! Keep looking around—you might spot a robot in your world today!
