☁️ Let’s Talk About the Sky!

Have you ever looked up and seen big, fluffy clouds floating by? Those clouds may look like cotton candy, but they’re actually made of tiny water droplets!

Way up high in the sky, the Sun shines on rivers, lakes, and oceans. This makes the water evaporate, or turn into invisible water vapor. This water vapor floats up into the sky, where it’s cooler. When it gets cold, the vapor changes back into tiny drops of water. That’s called condensation.

All those water drops group together to make a cloud!

🌧️ But When Does It Rain?

Great question! As more and more water drops gather in a cloud, the cloud gets heavier and heavier. Eventually, it can’t hold all the water anymore.

That’s when the drops fall down from the cloud as rain! 🌧️

If it’s really cold, the rain might turn into snow or hail. But on warmer days, it falls as lovely, splashy raindrops.

🌱 Why Rain Is Important

Even though it makes our socks soggy, rain is super helpful!

  • 💧 It gives water to plants and trees so they can grow.
  • 🐄 It fills up rivers and lakes so animals can drink.
  • 🧼 It helps clean the air and wash away dust.

No rain = no flowers, no puddles, and no fun rainy-day splashes!

☂️ Fun Rainy-Day Facts!

  • The smell of rain has a name: petrichor!
  • Some deserts may not get rain for years.
  • The wettest place on Earth is Mawsynram, India — it rains almost every day
