Planet Earth: Our Amazing Home

Planet Earth is a special place! It is the only planet we know of that has life. From towering mountains to deep blue oceans, Earth is full of wonders waiting to be explored. Let’s take a journey to learn more about our incredible home!

Earth is the third planet from the Sun in our solar system. It is just the right distance from the Sun to have water, air, and life. This perfect spot is called the “Goldilocks Zone” because it is not too hot and not too cold!

Earth is made up of different layers:

• Crust – The outer layer where we live. It has land, mountains, and oceans.
• Mantle – A thick layer of hot rock beneath the crust.
• Outer Core – A layer of liquid metal that moves around.
• Inner Core – A solid ball of iron and nickel in the center of the Earth.

Did you know that about 70% of Earth is covered in water? That’s why it looks like a blue marble from space! The rest of the Earth has land with forests, deserts, mountains, and valleys.

Earth is home to millions of plants, animals, and people. It has oxygen to breathe, water to drink, and food to eat. The atmosphere protects us from harmful rays of the Sun and keeps us warm.

We must take care of Earth by keeping it clean and safe. Here are some ways to help:

• Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Use less plastic and recycle what you can.
• Save Water and Energy – Turn off lights and taps when not in use.
• Plant Trees – Trees give us oxygen and keep the air clean.

• Earth takes 365 days to go around the Sun.
• It takes 24 hours for Earth to spin once – that’s why we have day and night!
• Earth has one moon that helps control the ocean’s tides.
• The tallest mountain on Earth is Mount Everest.
